About Elevate Special Education Solutions

Elevate was founded to support district leaders navigating the increasing complexity of special education systems. As accountability demands rise and internal capacity is stretched, districts need more than technical compliance support — they need sustainable structures that withstand scrutiny and support long-term stability.

Elevate partners with superintendents and special education leaders to strengthen IDEA compliance, improve IEP quality, and build systems that are both defensible and instructionally aligned. The focus is not on quick fixes, but on designing internal structures that reduce recurring risk and build lasting capacity.

Based in Livingston, Montana, Elevate understands the unique structural and capacity challenges facing rural and geographically diverse districts.

Serving public school districts nationwide.

Philosophy

Special education systems should not depend on individual heroics. They should be structured, coherent, and sustainable.

Elevate’s work is grounded in the belief that IDEA compliance and instructional quality are not competing priorities. When systems are intentionally designed, they support both.

The goal is straightforward:

Stronger IEPs.
Stronger Systems.
Sustainable Results.

About the Founder

Elevate Special Education Solutions was founded by Alicia Herman, a former state-level special education improvement specialist with extensive experience in IDEA compliance and district systems redesign.

Alicia began her career in education at the classroom level before serving in state-level school improvement roles focused on compliance and systems redesign. This experience provided a unique vantage point — understanding both the daily realities of implementation and the broader regulatory and accountability landscape shaping district decision-making.

She has supported districts across diverse contexts in strengthening compliance systems, preparing for monitoring, and redesigning internal accountability structures.

In addition to her state-level work, Alicia is completing doctoral studies in Special Education with advanced focus in Public and Nonprofit Leadership, deepening her expertise in organizational systems, governance, and sustainable institutional change. This advanced study informs Elevate’s systems-based approach to district partnership.

Working across varied district contexts has reinforced a consistent truth — effective systems are not built through isolated fixes. They are built through structured processes, clear accountability, and leadership alignment.

Elevate brings that systems-level perspective to every district partnership.
